I spoke with George Asche yesterday. If you're not familiar, he's very well-known amongst Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth/Desoto Flathead aficionados. He said 0.080 oversize is not a problem at all for these engines. He's had a number of them that were 0.125 oversize, and that's starting to get pretty risky, he told me. You only do that for racing engines.
Having said that, I read a post by another guy who said he had his block bored 0.080 oversize and ended up blowing out the cylinder while driving the car. Maybe he got that 1 block in 100 that was thinner-walled than most?
