The dog is fine, but my sister, who's a nurse, was pretty upset until I got her (dog) out. Had to take the trap apart to get it loose, but I left all the pieces there. Real glad it didn't break her leg. Bro-in-law did a great job of holding the dog down and keeping her calm while I worked on the trap. Glad I had some tools with me. Other than the sno-cat breaking down and the wolf trap, everybody had a good time.
Plan is to hike back up tomorrow and put the straightened-out tie rod in. Once I get it back to town I can check for other damage. No way to tow or haul it, so it will need to come out under its own power one way or the other.
