Drag Link Spring Installation

I'm reassembling the drag link for the 6x6. I'm using one from an RFPW (Radius Fender Power Wagon). Do the springs both go toward the center of the drag link? I thought they did, but I found an illustration that shows the pitman spring at the tube end, and the axle spring on the adjuster nut end? What to do?
