batteries and alternators

My two plow trucks, 1968 W300 with 8' Meyers 4 way angle, and 1966 F350 with Hiniker V plow, have dual batteries. The V plow has more versatility, so I probably use the motor/hydraulics twice as much as I do the Meyer on the W300. I have battery maintainers on both trucks and plug them in when not in use. Please forgive the request for assistance on the Ford, but I want to replace the alternator with a higher output unit, and would appreciate any suggestions.
