Hi Jerry, I love anything that's well done. I always prefer original anything but if you're going to modify something...just find a way to engineer it so it looks period correct. Like a modern gauge...not. Why?? Does a modern digital speedo work better than a good working original?
I understand a modern seat...I mean a crippled old man that can't ride in a man's truck & so he has to "sissify" the vehicle to be able to please his vintage carcass regardless of how ugly it is....I'd just never never be able to do it...buy a G-wagon or a Ford Raptor if a truck has too much "man"
:)
The 4BT is still my favorite...agreed.
Even a 4BT mod can be fouled up however. No sense spending much time fabricating & doing a quality installation if you're going to use a "Painless Wiring Harness Special Kit To Make Your Vehicle Worthless"
I mean I guess it depends on your end goal. The cheesy wiring harness will work just fine....just that it looks like crap.
To each his own I guess they say Jerry. Some folks don't notice details I guess & that's why the small block Chev is the popular engine of choice for repowers I guess :)
