Hi Joe,
Hopefully you're getting the pics I sent about my Father in Law's time in the service in Alaska. His name was Charlie Shore, and he was a Medic in the Army. He never went overseas during his time in the military, serving only in Alaska and Seattle. These pics are taken in '43 in Juneau. He told me one story about his time in AK., probably with the truck in the pics. He said, "On a couple of occasions, in the winter, he found he could drive out on to a large wooden pier which was covered in ice and crank the wheel and slam on the brakes, and spin 360's down the length of the pier. Ha ha ha, what fun! Let's do that again....until one time he over did it and slammed into the beam that went along the edge of the pier and bounced a wheel over it. The truck stopped right at the teetering point, and scared the crap out of him. Suddenly it wasn't quite so fun anymore, and he managed to get back over the beam and off the pier, without getting caught."
