I spent about an hour with my son trying to flatten out the mounting faces of one of the manifolds with a large sheet of sand paper and a piece of plate steel. We got about half way done and found that we were not cutting as flat as we thought. Rather than wreck the manifolds I'm going to have a local machine shop plane them down correctly. $75.00 for the pair. Not cheap, but better than having to buy new ones.
