When i shift from 2nd to 3rd, as soon as i take the first step and put it in neutral, it is already touching the third gear and grinds.

I have to very very delicately put it into neutral first to avoid it touching the third gear.

1st to second is fine. 3rd to 4th is fine.

What kind of an adjustment do I likely need to make?
