NP435 and Chelsea 352 PTO

I'm considering changing out my NP435 for one with a left hand PTO opening. I've heard different things regarding the Chelsea 352 PTO - some say you can't run a straight PTO shaft to the winch, it has to have a pillow block in the middle. Anyone know for sure? I'm running a hydraulic bellhousing and LA 318 engine.

Also, can anyone tell me how wide the 352 is from the mounting flange to the opposite side of the case? My clutch cylinder may kill the whole deal.
