Since my truck was originally a wrecker conversion there were heavy braces welded to the top of the frame to support the winch and boom. The custom bed had a floor of 3/16" diamond plate that was sandwiched between the tow hardware and the frame.
While I'm not putting the towing equipment back on the truck I am going to re-use the original bed. I've welded in a new floor and still need to work out a few other modifications to make it a little more user friendly for normal hauling duty, but was wondering what if anything to use between the bed floor and the frame? I was thinking some hard urethane or HDPE sheet to help compensate for some of the extra lift I had to put in the cab mounting blocks and provide a little isolation.
