Ok.. since installing the so called "brand new" or "rebuilt" starter I got with the rebuilt engine, it seems that on top of my already mounting issues wit the truck I have a starter that went out on me.
Yep. was fine all thru the Veterans day parades (thankfully) today,, nothing. checked all connections. battery at full charge...the starter is DEAD
Anyway, I wish to remove it.. damned if I dont have the curved open/closed wrench to get at the top bolt.
In the 1/2 ton dodge military trucks the engine sits in a recess in the firewall, leaving even less room to work.
When I installed it I think it as on the engine when the engine was installed. Or, I used a specialty tool my buddy had.
It was a curved wrench, open ended one side, closed the other. 5/8" size.
Anyone know this part number to use? I need to order one from my local NAPA guy thru the tool guys that come thru weekly. not the military stock number. I need a modern equiv.. like snap-on. or craftsman.. I dont care..
I cant get this &$(%(%_ starter off, no way, no how, without some sort of special wrench!
just this ONE bolt causing me this grief.. arghhh!!
