To start with, no chrome work is cheap. What are you having chromed; pot metal (like the hood emblems) or steel pieces (like the gauge trim)? Pot metal is more difficult and only certain shops will work on it. I used Sherm's in Sacramento, CA for some of my pot metal. Their chrome work was very good, but despite my instructions, they buffed the piece quite a bit so the edges aren't nice and sharp any more. Price was high, but not unreasonable. I also used Ogden Chrome in Utah. Their work was very good on most pieces, but my emblems came back with a lot of flash around the edges that I had to remove myself. Very high prices. I still have a couple of pieces to do, but I've just about given up finding a place that can do a job that justifies the price.
