- Point gap is .020 for 6V through 24V
- Spark plug gap is .035
- Timing 6-8 degrees BTDC
- It sounds as though you have not installed a ballast resistor that is required for 12V, that's why you get the occasional miss at higher rpms, without it, your points are rapidly burning.
- The carb/choke issue could be from incorrect float level, or air idle screw adjustment.
