An engine that won't crank when hot usually is from one of several possibilities:
- dragging starter which probably is not the case.
- bad battery cell(s). It takes more amps to crank a hot engine than one that is cold.
- cables that are too small in diameter.
- cables that are too long in length and small diameter.
- amp rating of the battery.
= You want at least 450 battery amps.
= Use battery cables designed for 6v - large diameter
= check the battery for bad cells. My personal preference is not to install a maintenance free battery, install one you can check.
