Gasoline blends are seasonal. Winter gasoline has WAY more light ends in it, making it much more volatile, and more vaporizable, if you will.
Summer gasoline is the opposite. So, a tankful of summer gasoline in a carburated application is fine, unless it sits until winter, then it has too few light ends to make our old trucks run.
The blends start to change well before the seasons.
