Hi ya, Vaughn! Yes, the transmission is installed in the truck. The original PTO came out with the trans still installed. It came out (with a little maneuvering) by moving it forward and down. The later, (after) PTO is clearly a little larger and has its driven gear sticking further out of the case necessitating the spacer plate. I am trying to install the later (after) PTO by the same path that I used to remove the original. The problem is that, even if I turned the transmission 90 degrees to install the PTO, it still would interfere with the clutch linkage when I turn the whole thing back around. Like I said, with the spacer plate in between the PTO and the trans, the holes are nowhere close to lining up. I have removed the brake pedal pivot bracket to gain more space to install the new PTO...
