Thanks for the comments guys. I can't take credit for the article though. It was written by Jim Allen, a renowned author of several books. Jim came to a Power-Wagon Rally sometime around 10 years ago or so and interviewed several of us and took a lot of photos. I had almost forgot about that until his article appeared in the magazine recently.
There are a few minor details about my truck that are off, but I would say it is one of, if not THE, most accurate articles to be found out there on the internet covering the history of the civilian Power-Wagon.
I currently use the Monroe hitch mainly for wood cutting and splitting. I will be doing a 3-day cutting demonstration starting this Friday at the working farm show put on by the antique tractor club that I am a member of. I will be cutting up the slabs that come off of the saw mill to sizes that the steam engines can use at the show next year. I just recently found the original fan belt driven pump/reservoir/valve Power Pack that my setup had been missing for over 20 years. I have this all restored and working and it has now taken place of the unit that I had designed and was using in its absence, and that had taken place of the early temporary Monarch pump mentioned in the article.
This does open up the possibilities of various demonstrations at future shows. I may even try plowing as I now have the correct single-bottom, two-bottom, and three-bottom plows to choose from.
Thanks. And thanks to Jim Allen.
