Put my '72 W200 on a scope and it said the dwell was running at 25°. It has the original electronic ignition which was optional for the first time that year. I always thought you could adjust dwell by changing the air gap between the reluctant and pick-up, but the manual says no, it is not adjustable for the electronic ignition.
My questions, is 25° an indication of a problem with this ignition, or is it normal? The scope indicates high resistance in the primary with a very high initial spark voltage at all cylinders, is this possibly because of the low dwell angle?
