A project like this would make one wonder if it's easier to put the running gear under the D500 or get a W500 with a bad cab and put the D cab on the frame.
And, as a former W500 owner, I can honestly say they are one of the coolest trucks ever, but very difficult to find a way to utilize.
Mine had power assist steering, hydra vac brakes, and lockout hubs, and yet it was very impractical to use.
And don't forget resale. Always a challenge to get your money out of something useful, let alone something that's not.
Case in point: the stupid looking mess someone made of the M37 higher up on this page.
