8K is really not enough. There are significant differences in the axles and wheels between 8K and 10 or 12K trailers. My 12K rated trailer loaded with my PW weighs in at 9K on the axles with 1,000 lbs on the tongue. That is 10K total. 8k trailers usually run 15" 5 lug wheels you need to have 16" 8 lug wheels which are found on the larger and better trailers. Then you start talking about brakes they are much bigger on the 10K and 12K trailers.
I would never load and run a trailer at full capacity. Just too many chances for failure, especially with the tires, wheels and bearings.
