Wiring Diagram Question

I'm starting from complete scratch on my 6x6 wiring system. The above diagram shows the wiring for the alternator used on my 318. The alternator has 2 field posts, both of which just say FLD. Does it matter which post goes to the blue/white wire and which goes to the green wire? Being 12vdc I thought it might.
