Ram 2500 winch/charging system

So I posted the same question from the last forum on the powerwagon registry. Had one guy tell me that his 3g truck does that also and that the 3g charging system doesn't like big electrical loads like winching for extended periods. The computer thinks their is a dead short in the system, and shuts down the alternator to avoid damage.
