They are devastating in smaller lakes. In our local lake, it's over 90,000 acres and deepest part is 1200-1300 feet.
The lake is fed by the Clark's Fork river, which is full of illegally planted northern pike upstream, and feeds eventually into the Columbia River, which is getting a population of them.
There are lots of small creeks that drain into the lake from other small lakes. These lakes will eventually become populated with them.
This is another reason why I invited this guy home for dinner.
