My '68 W300 (last year of the six lug axle) came with duals. When I mounted single type wheels, the overall with was approx. 5" NARROWER. I had to have some spacers made to mount to the drums and move the wheels out 2 1/2" on each side. I'm not sure I understand how yours ended up the opposite?
