1953 Dodge M37
10,000? Miles
I've started restoring it, but I don't have the time to work on it anymore. I wish I had more time for this, it would make an off road beast, and would be a good candidate to restore.
This M37 was used in the Navy, and eventually found its way into a fire department before eventually making its way to me. It has a strong running 6 cylinder flathead engine. Sorry for the vertical video: https://youtu.be/7_SzCntGTbc
I took the transmission out to replace it, but I haven't put the new NP420 Trans in. The 4x4 transfer case has a shifter for high and low gears as well as a shifter for 2 and 4 wheel drive. Either needs new bearings, or to be replaced, I have an extra to swap in.
The frame is very solid, it only has surface rust and dirt on it.
Body is in okay shape. I have extra bed frame rails and a bed floor, currently it has a wood floor I started pulling out. I have a tailgate, and the soft top frame is welded to the metal roof.
Electrical is a mess, and all needs to be replaced. I'm amazed I could get it running.
I have early style tail lights and turn signals and 4 or 5 headlights for it. I have just about 2 of every part from a parts truck that is in good condition if good means every part was removed for a stalled frame off restoration.
