It was TerraServer-USA that I used in the past. It was a free online repository of public domain aerial imagery and topographic maps. One could choose a general area, pan until you found a specific area, then zoom in, pick the image from available years that the photos were taken, and print screen. Yes, the older they were the worse the quality. I know the images exist of the area I want to see as I saw them before, but never thought to print them.
I do not know the latitude or longitude of the property, and this will be a one-time thing, so if I am to pay a fee I need freedom to search (pan and zoom) and verify quality before purchasing an image.
