That's true for the later dome light, but the 1941 is different

The early external switch dome light used from 1940- late 1947 mounts in the same basic location Ray gave, but it has a metal plate that goes behind the cardboard and the base to attached to the plate with screws that go through the cardboard. Then the switch mounts to the side. Typically the driver side.

If this is a 1941 WC-1 style WWII 1/2 ton 4/4 I'm not sure they had dome lights? They were optional on the 2wds and PWs.
