Too bad you don't know somebody with a sawmill nearby. Seems a shame to gut a big straight larch up for firewood. That's my favorite kind of lumber because it's as strong as doug fir and as rot-resistant as redwood. That one's probably a bit knotty, having grown out in the open, but it would still be good for heavy timbers.
