I have some import tires from yugoslavia or some such place. I run them aired down and aired up - no side wall cracks at over 10 years. Michelins? My street rod had maybe 2000 miles on the michelins and they where dry rotted junk that also was delaminating. Yep stored in a nice dry garage. One of the NOS tires on my carryall has side wall cracks at 500 miles, yes I did air down to 10 lbs and that is what got it started. The Kelly Springfields on the back of my rod are the same ones I tossed on in 1983. They are just now starting to show cracks. So 3 sets of michelins on the front- all failed due to delamination and one set on the rear of Kellys that I have yet to replace.
This has to be different compounds, cure times or some such thing.
