excellent primer on pressure Todd!! - Thanks
Just as an aside,
Back in my shipyard days. We used to flush the diesel engines after rebuilds. We would use an external sock strainer filter and oil heater inline with a external pump. We had a constant oil temp and constant pressure oil pump. We would monitor the pressure on the inlet side of the strainer/filter. We could see the oil pressure slowly climb as the strainer/filter filled up with stuff. Higher pressure = clogged filter. At first, we would change filters every ten minutes as the strainers filled up. It would slowly decrease to the point when we could run hours between changes.
Best Wishes
Lonnie
