Many years ago (ouch!) Chrysler was experiencing problems with several of their race engines. It turned out that the oil pressure was so high with the then new high volume pump, that oil was actually spraying past the #3 main and not getting into the oiling journal on that bearing. The #3 main journal had to be re-designed to accomodate the higher pressure which was needed to get proper flow into the heads. Windage trays (on a PW??? ha ha!) and the re-design helped solve this problem.
