I'm not sure who did it, perhaps Ak Miller, but someone in the mid-1970's took a Ford 300 Six and put 351 Cleveland V-8 heads on it. Actually, the heads were sectioned. I think it took three heads whittled to cover two cylinders each. This allowed not only bigger ports, but changed the design to a crossflow. That is, instead of the intake and exhaust mainfolds being on the same side of the head, they were on opposite sides of the head. That helps scavenging, getting more exhaust gases out so they don't dillute the intake mixture. The engine ran like a Stripped A$$ Ape. I don't remember what car it was stuck in.

Would have been interesting if Chrysler had updated their Slant Six the way Ford did their sixes ie more main bearings etc.
