Mechanical Tachometer

In one of the box of goodies that accompanied a power wagon purchase, I discovered an AC mechanical tach with attached cable and housing. Just looking at it, it appears to be of about the same vintage as the truck. Is there any way to hook this up? FYI, both rigs are stock 49 & 50 B1PW's. Appreciate any information on this.
