From my observations, the M-37 has at least
1-1/2 times the under-hood space as a flatfendered PW giving it the advantage of being retrofitted with a V-8 and having more working room under the hood. the steering box is located outside the frame on the M-37 adding to working room and better adaptability to better steering boxes or systems.
The WDX-WM300 PWs underhood space is packed with a V-8 conversion leaving virtually no working room compared to the M-37. Personally I feel a In-line 6 gas or a 3-4-6 cylinder in-line diesel would be best for a WDX-WM300 PW conversion if working room is a consideration.
