is original to a few old PWs. I had two planks (maybe 1" x 3" oak) running full width screwed to the bottom of the random width boards on my 1947 WDX. Add them to your truck to increase the strength of your floor. Also, glue the lengthwise joints between adjoining (side-by-side) floor boards Both steps increase bed floor integrity.
