The PTO from a 1950 PW with the non-synchro transmission (Crash box) will not fit into the NP420 Transmissions that are found in 1956 and newer PWs. Sorry for the bad news. I have the same issue as I want to upgrade my 52 PW to a NP 420 transmission. I have all parts except the PTO.
