Differential case cap was loose, Is this a problem?

WC ¾ ton, All 3 locking pins were ok. But no heat was needed to remove cap. I didn’t even bolt down the carrier. Just tapped it off with a drift and hammer. Everything looked ok, pins looked original, I don’t think it had ever been apart. I’ll tighten it good and drill new pin holes. But.
IS THIS CARRIER OK??? As cap should be .004 interference fit.
