From my FSM, under the group on Service Brakes (GROUP 5), it starts off under REMOVAL with "Remove wheel and drum". I suppose if you're going to attempt a brake job by yourself, you are expected to know how to remove the drums (I do know how to remove the wheels, having had a flat, or two, in my years). I have to admit that it has been almost 20 years since I last serviced drum brakes, and I'm a bit rusty. I suppose I could figure it out on my own, but I was wondering if anyone out there had any good tips on removing the drums on a '64 Dodge 3/4T 4X4 8-lug wheel, truck. There is nothing in the FSM, that I was able to find. The parts manual, in GROUP 2 FRONT SUSPENSION and GROUP 22 WHEELS, show exploded view illustrations of the W100 and W200 Front Wheel, but nothing for the rear wheels. It would appear that in order to remove the drums, one must remove the hubs, as well. Are there any good after-market service manuals out there (for '61-'71 Dodge Trucks), for "back yard" mechanics who want to do their own brakes ( among other jobs)?
