For your charging difference periodically switch
the 2 batteries, this way the battery being
overcharged is not always the same one. What is
happening is the draw at 12v bypasses the 1st
battery but is supplied by the generator through
the 2nd battery. The batteries can handle some
overcharging but it is not a good idea to
continuously overcharge them.
