All of the above is good advice. Please! Pay close attention to the safety aspects of this task. If not handled correctly, these things can and will really mess up a day, or put a person down for good. If you don't feel sure of yourself, even in the slightest, take the tire/rim to a good commercial tire shop, roll or drag it inside, and let them take the chances; thy most likely have the equipment to do the job relatively easy, and safely.
I have changed and repaired these things under field and shop conditions, with and without proper tools, and there is no easy way, just some that are less difficult. I've seen them come apart, fortunately those were contained, but I was acquainted with a man who lost part of his hand to a split rim.
Now that I've preached a sermon, let me say that there appears to quite a bit of good advice and info in this Forum, about this particular subject. Check out the archives, and read and understand it all, before taking this on yourself. Of course, I think the best tool available is a good "BIG RIG" tire shop.
