At the stage you are at, it makes perfect sense. The DOT-5 fluid is a lot easier to deal with, as it never holds moisture (no rusting), and will not eat up your paint. I run nothing but silicone, and the best deal by far is the surplus guys, where a gallon is $15 plus freight. Another thing available is the military warning sticker, so some nimrod won't put 3- or 4- fluid in by mistake. Try Coleman's, 1.888.478.7758 DG.
