Ok, so the engine runs, now I want it to run well.
Question #1: What is the correct spark advance setting? The book says 2 degrees after TDC. Any experiences out there with other settings based on modern fuel? I can't get any knock out of it at settings up to 10 degrees before TDC.
Question #2: Anyone know the yellow and/or redline rpm for the 231 flathead?
Question #3: Boy, does that manifold get hot! Is a heat shield for the fuel pump a good idea? In Arizona? If so, anyone know where to get one?
