While on the topic....... my C4 has sililar rust in the middle part of the frame. It seems that the centre part of the frame is doubled layers of steel stamped and rivited together. Frome the outside looking underneath it looks fine but once laying comfortably on your back in the middle looking out you can see some serious delamination. Has any one repaired this kind of rotting. I will be taking the box off and this will facilitate repairs. The M-43 had a reenforment plate rivited on the outside of the frame. Is this a possible solution? Or for appearance sake cna it be attacked from the inside. One consideration for me is getting a safety certificate for licensing so it must pass a close "eye" scutiny, besides I d'ont want the PW to sag in the middle like a pregnant horse.
I was thining of a heavy...3/8 plate cut to fit inside the frame after the old crap is removed. This will undoubtedly be the biggest problem to fix.
Thanks for ALL advice. Bob C.
