I have been out fighting fire every day since Saturday and we are all beat and battered...including our trucks (if interested, look at www.jcpost.com under Local and you'll even see one of my trucks in a pic). We have two M813 trucks and after putting out a pole fire I found out that the front axle is not driving, had to get a local to bring out his big 4x4 tractor to pull me out. Anyone familiar with the 4x4 systems on these, please email me off forum.
If it helps, while backing it into the station early in the week, there was a loud "bang" after backing in reverse, high range, maybe after 10 feet. everything else seems normal. Tuesday night, the other truck did the same thing not 5 feet after starting to back up from our fill point. I still can't believe the front axles wasn't driving from the hills we climbed up and down putting out the head fire Tuesday, there is a reason there is a 4" hole in the middle of the drivers seat :)
