There are just two bearings on the input shaft. a ball bearing on the main shaft and a caged needle in the center. The syncros could be dragging if the shift fork is off. Try running it in neutral with clutch out and move the shifter for and aft gently to see if the drag decreases. Not sure if the cluster gear is turning as well?
