The bottom stake pocket is drilled thru the bed for a bolt to hold the wood inside the pocket. The upper one with the D-Ring has a hole in the bed behind it. I will use this hole to bolt a 1/4" 3" wide strap steel section that goes up to the top of the bed rail to weld the hoops on. I will drill and thread/tap into the strap steel and drill the wood out some for the bolt to go into a little that will clamp it to the bed side. Under the strap I will put some rubber matting to protect the bed from being gouged by the steel. A small flat section welded on the strap steel to sit on top of the bed to stop any rocking and it will also have rubber under it. This will make it easy to drop the hoops in and just a bolt thru the inside of bed side to make them solidly mounted. Decided I can cut the angles if needed for the hoops and weld them up. Add to that a cross metal strap bolted on in 3 places the full length to stop sagging of the canvas when snow may build up on it.
