Boy something else must be wrong? The shaft has to be in the bushing with it that close bell housing?? Are you sure the bushing is installed all the way into the flywheel? Unbolt the cover off the bottom of the bell housing and look up with a flash light to make sure the throw out bearing or fork is not causing it. That baby should just push in now and the clutch plate is not the problem at this point. Dumb question but the plate has to go in one direction is there a possibility the clutch plate is in backwards under the pressure plate? Just throwing it out for a idea?
