I read a lot of posts in the archives about removing spring pins, but I never came across this fact: on a WC 1/2 ton you can drive the rear most spring pins out from inside the frame via a hole in the frame.
And if your cross member and frame is sufficiently rotted out, you can drive the forward pins out from the inside also.
I did not have any luck pulling the pins out by threading into the grease hole and leveraging that way (a common method mentioned in the archives). After stripping out two of the pins I started to poke around and discovered how to do it the easy way.
