well that may be part of the issue.
It seems that every few miles I loose my low idle and the truck wont run unless I give it a high RPM. (the truck isn't driven much, just on the property)
so its doesn't take much run time for this to happen.
I take apart the carb, clean it, and the bowl is ALWAYS full of this yellowish stuff I described. as well as what looks like the carb body plating? its yellow chromate finish, like a lot of these zinc die cast carbs, and it appears as if that plating is coming off as well and that's in the bowl too.
I cant understand.. the tank was relined. the entire fuel lines have been replaced with brand new.. the rubber lines as well.
Even a brand new stainless steel in tank fuel filter and pickup.
still, every so often I get the poor idling, forcing me to tear into the carb and re-clean all the bowl, jets, etc and put back on.. once I do, it runs fine again... till the next time :(
