Tight valves can cause a misfire and they do tighten up as the temp goes up.
A weak ignition coil can also give less spark as it heats up.
Try pulling one plug wire off at a time ((([[[ using insulated pliers, electricians insulated fuse puller, or etc ]]]))) when the engine is running & misfiring. The popping should go away or get less. If there are misfires on more than one cylinder may only get less. If the engine starts running worse and there is no change in the popping it ain't that cylinder.
